Entered in the State Register of Museums under item no. 8. The Museum has, in addition to the headquarters and the branch of the Kołobrzeg City Museum in the Braunschweig Palace, also a complex of buildings at Emilii Gierczak Street 5, where the main exhibition – History of Polish Arms – is located, the Maritime Open-Air Museum in the Kołobrzeg port, the Cold War Museum in Rogów on the basis of the atomic ammunition warehouse and the branch of the Museum of Aviation and Military Technology in the hangar in Rogów. Initially, the museum was to have a historical-urban profile, devoted to the history of Kołobrzeg.
